Winter is over and the ensemble of the Oreshek fortress (the Shlisselburgskaya fortress) will be available for walks and excursions again on the 1st of May.
The tourist season in Oreshek Fortress will last until October 31 this year. Guests can visit the fortress from 10:00 to 18:00, on holidays and weekends an hour more.
Shlisselburg Fortress (Oreshek) is a unique architectural and historical monument of the XIV-XX centuries. It was founded by Novgorod prince Yuri Danilovich, the grandson of Alexander Nevsky. The fortress was as an outpost on the border with Sweden.
